On 8 August 2023, the International Studies Center (ISC), with support from Kasemsamosorn Fund, organised a book launch for “Siam’s Foreign Relations in the Reign of King Mongkut, 1851-1868”, by the late Dr. Neon Snidvongs, a former lecturer at the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy (CRMA) and the first Director of Institute of Thai Khadi Research Institute at Thammasat University.

At the event, three distinguished speakers, namely Dr. Tej Bunnag, Secretary-General of Thai Red Cross Society and Chairman of ISC Advisory Board, Professor Dr. Sunait Chutintaranond, Director of Multicultural Studies and Social Innovation Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and Associate Professor Dr. Chachapon Jayaphorn, Vice Dean, Faculty of Law, Chulalongkorn University, shared their views on the book. The discussion focused on international and domestic developments that affected foreign relations during the reign of King Mongkut.

Approximately 100 participants, including former and current diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, historians and social science scholars, former and current CRMA lecturers and publishers, attended the event.
