Dr.Thakur Phanit introduced his book “ASEAN’s First Decade”, which is his Ph.D. thesis at the Pennsylvania State
University and examined ASEAN’s long and arduous journey since its formation. Supamit Pitipat gave his views on the book and how it contributed to the understanding of ASEAN and ASEAN studies. In the discussion entitled “ASEAN’s Next Decade”, the panelists - Usana Berananda, Director-General of ASEAN Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, M.L. Pinitbhand Paribatra of Thammasat University and Suriyan Vichitlekarn of Mekong Institute offered perspectives on the future of ASEAN and the challenges to come.
