As part of their ongoing cooperation, the International Studies Center (ISC), Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA) and Casa Asia co-organised the 2nd Spain-Thailand Forum on 20 June 2024 at Pabellón de los Jardines de Cecilio Rodríguez, Madrid, Spain. At the event, Mrs. Inmagurada Sánchez Cervera, Representative of the Madrid City Council, Mr. Javier Parrondo, Director General of Casa Asia and Ms. Thitiporn Chirasawadi, Director of DVIFA, delivered welcoming remarks. The keynote addresses were given by Mr. Carlos Moreno Blanco, Director-General for North America, Eastern Europe, and Asia-Pacific, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Spain and Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand.

The Forum discusses three main topics, namely “Maritime Security and Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific”, “Innovation in the Field of Renewable Energies” and “Promotion of Country’s Branding: Best Practices from Spain and Thailand”, which were followed by closing remarks by Mr. Miguel Ángel Oliver, Executive President, EFE News Agency.

Approximately 80 participants, including ambassadors and member of the diplomatic missions, former Ambassadors of Spain to Thailand, Thai officials and nationals living in Spain, as well as distinguished guests from the Spanish private sector, academic institutions and think tanks participated in the event.
