The International Studies Center (ISC) and the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), in the capacity of the Global Center for Mekong Studies (GCMS) Thailand Center and China Center, co-organised the 6^th GCMS Think Tank Forum on 22 December 2023. At the forum, Mrs. Phantipha Iamsudha Ekarohit, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand delivered a keynote speech. Welcome and closing remarks were given by Dr. Anuson Chinvanno, Director of ISC, and Dr. Rong Ying, Vice President and Senior Research Fellow, CIIS, co-chairs of GCMS. Representatives of six GCMS national centers, scholars from other ASEAN countries, and development partners discussed the concept and framework of the Mekong-Lancang Community of Shared Future as well as ways to build and develop a closer Mekong-Lancang community. The event was also attended by representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China and Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Bangkok, representative of Institute of Security Studies, and the media. The meeting was the first in-person GCMS Think Tank Forum after the COVID-19 pandemic.
