On 2 February 2026, the International Studies Center (ISC), in collaboration with the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), and the Prince Saud Al Faisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies (IDS) co-organised the 2nd Saudi Arabia-Thailand Academic Dialogue at IDS, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The event began with opening remarks by, Mr. Thanop Panyapattanakul, Ambassador attached to the Ministry and Dr. Moshbab A. Alkahtani, Director-General of IDS. The dialogue had four sessions, namely The State of Bilateral Relations in a Changing Regional Context, Global Economic Realignment and Bilateral Opportunities, Saudi Arabia and Thailand as Middle Powers in a Fragmented International Order and Maritime Routes Security: Red Sea-Indo-Pacifics Strategic Linkages, with the objective to promote bilateral understanding between Thailand and Saudi Arabia across various dimensions, particularly in trade and investment, as well as to promote academic cooperation between the diplomatic institutes of both nations.
