On 24 September 2024, the International Studies Center (ISC) organised a launching event for the book “Thailand and ASEAN 1967-1979” and a seminar on “Thailand and ASEAN 2025-2045”. At the event, Dr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra, the author, introduced theoretical and historical background of the book, which was followed by a seminar. Four panelists, namely Ambassador Sihasak Phuangketkeow, former Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Busadee Santipitaks, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Kirida Bhaopichitr, Research Director for International Economics and Development Policy, Director for TDRI Economic Intelligence Service (TDRI EIS) and Associate Professor Dr. Dulyapak Preecharushh, President of The Association of Regional Studies in Thailand, shared their views on lessons learned from regional situation in ASEAN during 1967-1979 as well as prospects for the role of Thailand in an evolving regional context in the next decades. The session was moderated by Mr. Seksan Anantasirikiat, ISC Strategic Researcher. Approximately 120 participants, including former ambassadors, diplomats, scholars, government officers, the private sector, the civil society and university students, attended the event.
