The International Studies Center and the Department of East Asian Affairs co-organised a seminar on “Power Transition: Future Directions of Chinese Political Transition and Its Implications on Regional and Bilateral Relations with Thailand” at the Okura Prestige Hotel, for representatives from various government organisations as well as departments under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the session, five experts, namely Associate Professor Worasak Mahadthanobol, Guest Lecturer, Srinakharinwirot University, Dr. Arm Tungnirun, Director of Chinese Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Ambassador Wiboon Khusakul, former Thai Ambassador to China, Dr. Sitthiphon Kruarattikan, College of Interdisciplinary Studies, Thammasat University and Dr. Jittipat Poonkham, Vice Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Political Science, Thammasat University, discussed the upcoming Congress of the Communist Party of China and the impending leadership change and how this would impact on the region and China’s relations with Thailand.
